It's hip to be square! New mini quilt tutorial from LTW Miniatures

Love what you see here at LTW Miniatures but fancy making your own miniature dollhouse quilt? Give it a go with a helpful tutorial (available here). Square patchwork is a classic look that adds a touch of instant cosiness to any dollhouse. and this is a brilliant way to use up all those little scraps of fabric we miniaturists tend to hoard!

Here is an idea of the kinds of miniature quilts you could make using this tutorial:

Never done mini sewing before? No problem - so long as you can sew a basic whipstitch, you can do this. This is a hand sewing project, so while it's not quick, it is satisfying. Plus you don't need any fancy equipment such as a sewing machine (although that will speed up the final steps).

All LTW Miniature digital tutorials include full instructions and templates. For the square quilt I've included 3 different sizes - 1/2", 3/4" and 1" squares, so there are lots of design possibilities to make something truly unique. If you're new to miniature patchwork, I would recommend starting with one inch squares, and working your way smaller once you've got the hang of that.

This tutorial is a digital download - so no waiting for the mail - download it and get going! You will need to print the templates off without changing the sizing - choose A4 paper and you're good to go!

And remember, it's not a race. Miniatures made with love take time, and this project will keep your hands busy for a while. But I promise the results will be worth it.

If you followed this tutorial (or an LTW kit) I'd love to see your creations! Tag me @ltwminiatures on Instagram. Happy making!
